AFL has State of Origin Football in its sights

AFL CEO, Andew Demetriou says State of Origin Football could become a regular event on the footy calender in the future.
Following last weekends sucessful Victoria v Dreamteam match, the AFL appears to be enthusiastic about reintroducing State of Origin Football.
Mr Demetriou said "We certainly wouldn't do it every year, we certainly wouldn't do it every second year -- what format it takes, we'll wait and see."
Today's comments by Mr Demetriou were a stark contrast to comments made by him after the game last Saturday night. Following the match, Demetriou said it was a one off.
However, given there was an attendance near 70,000 people at last weeks match, it has forced the AFL to reconsider its options for future state versus state games.
Even so, the AFL and Mr Demetriou are not promising State of Origin football every year or even every second year. "What format it takes - we'll wait and see," Mr Demetriou said.
