It will take more then money to entice Ablett

It's everyones favourite topic in the media, it's even a cause for concern for many that are around Geelong, will he or won't he leave the club. But I think there is more to the story and more to him then just a pay check.
The man some have dubbed son of God has had to carry that media attention, the struggles of that has lead Nathan to already depart the scene, but Nathan was always that media shy kid that wanted nothing to do with that.
But Gary Ablett Junior has looked to forge his own identity, he didn't want to be just known as son of God, but God Mach 2. I believe that it will take more then money to entice Ablett to the Gold Coast, why do I think that? Because Gary wants to make a name for himself and make everyone know him as Gary Ablett Junior and not as the son of Gary Ablett.
The pressure of living in the shadow of a Geelong legend, who has had his own media attention for the wrong reasons has shown the young Ablett that what he does will be all over the papers. Now days it seems that the pressure is less likely to bother him, because we have all seen what a great player he has become.
What will it take to make Ablett leave? Well if the Cats indeed win the flag this season, that will probably see him want to go to the new club and try and forge a name for himself there as well. Four premierships would be something that a lot of players would love to have, but what would make it even better would be to have gone to this new club that everyone's bagging and win it there.
But I don't believe Ablett will leave the Cats, the speculation alone has kept him in the media and it's given him the attention for himself and not for his famous name, having the chance to win another premiership at Geelong would cap it off.
The Gold Coast will no doubt sign some decent players, they may even score a few players that are duds, but they won't get their man for money, the chance to be a legend at two clubs may see him wear the Gold Coast colours, but that's still very doubtful.
There is also that chance that Gary may take his brothers feelings into account, his brother left Geelong escaping the pressure of being an Ablett in the media, if Gary went up there, it would see the focus back on him as well, so that's another reason for Ablett to consider remaining in Melbourne.
But I do not think that Ablett is on his way to the Gold Coast, seems more and more likely that he just just holding out to give himself some more publicity and will soon sign on for the Cats again, being another one of the names that the Gold Coast cannot entice with a heap of money.
