The Saints will hope to put the recent Lovett saga behind them as they head into their pre-season encounter against the Magpies, the saga came to an end officially yesterday as the Saints sacked Lovett, and will hope this ends that chapter of the club.

Luke Ball will hope that his first outing as a Magpie he can show the Collingwood faithful why he was selected at Pick 30 by the Magpies, Darren Jolly will also hope to impress in his first encounter for the Magpies,he has been impressing the Magpies on the training track. Neither Mick or Ross will be coaching their chargers for this clash, both men have allowed their assistants to take the reigns and they will watch from the stands.

Mick Malthouse won't be coaching at all during the NAB Cup, if the Pies lose this match it will be likely he won't be coaching at all during the pre-season, coach in waiting Nathan Buckley will also take the reigns during the pre-season should the Magpies progress.
