Lovett sacked by Saints

The St. Kilda Football Club have officially sacked out of favour new recruit Andrew Lovett just a day after charges being laid against him for sexual assault. St Kilda have admitted to blundering in recruiting high-risk midfielder Andrew Lovett, the former Essendon star will face court on Friday, charged with raping a woman in Port Melbourne on Christmas Eve.
Coach Ross Lyon conceded the club had been hurt, having traded away a first-round draft pick in October for the troubled ex-Bomber. He claimed Lovett's behaviour could not have been predicted but said the club as a whole took responsibility for the "unanimous" decision to recruit him. Taken from AAP.
It would seem the AFL career of Andrew Lovett has come to an end, whether or not he is proven innocent or guilty of the charges. Trouble seems to follow Lovett wherever he goes, should he be found innocent which might be a stretch at the moment hopefully for Lovett he does find a way to bounce back, but if he is indeed guilty the Australian Courts System fairly punishes him.
